WELL BIRMINGHAM CITY, YOUR PREMIERSHIP CROWD HAS GONE NOW AND WHAT YOURE LEFT WITH IS THE BLUES ONE YOU HAD BEFORE ! RATHER THAN WORRYING ABOUT GETTING THE SAME PREMIERSHIP MONEY OUT OF THOSE LEFT, TRY WORKING OUT HOW TO GET THOSE YOU PRICED OUT BACK IN ORDER TO AVOID THE EMBARRESMENT OF ALL THE HALF FULL GROUNDS YOURE LIKELY TO FACE WITH YOUR BIG CLUB !

Pay as you go for me next year, and if its to high, i'll just line the away clubs pockets as i always have !

Excellent post.

I like the bit I quoted most and this should be message the board heeds.

We need some early indication of season ticket take-up before we can get a bigger idea of what we can afford. They could promise player x y and z, them not come, and then we'd all be moaning that the board conned us.

Hows that any different from other seasons?

Put this on another post but it appropriate here too.

Its a good idea about the U12's price. For a single adults ticket tho.

Going by my ticket for the Kop Corner.

Option A:

Season 06/07 - £513

Season 07/08 - £410.40 (20% off) Saving £102.60

Season 08/09 - £513

Option B:

Season 06/07 - £513

Season 07/08 - £384.75 (25% off) Saving £128.25

Well a saving of £102.60 next season? I'm not confident us being in the Premier next year, and as far as I can imagine, if we did, the season tickets wouldn't be much more than they currently are for Premiership football. So that saving only looks good with promotion. But your paying over the odds this season.

As for option B, they're asking for the money upfront. Saving £128.25 next season. Well ok, thats nice if we go straight back up. But who really believes that? ..and paying upfront, are you going to use BCFC's financing? Credit cards? That'll wipe your saving straight out.

Not trying to influence anyone in the slightest, but just pointing out, think first!

The U12's ticket is great if you have children. Unfortunately i think i've been firing blanks, so that doesn't help me.

It amazes me !

They expect us to pay premiership prices but those there next season will not be the premiership fans !

I'd bet by the end of last season, at least 25% of those regulars who cried with TF as we tried and failed were priced out of the ground ! More were moved to make way for corporate business ! Those fortunate enough to be able to afford the high prices, did so with a struggle ! Season by season as our premiership life extended, the older fans were priced out, and the percentage of corporates increased ! Now those corporates will half as they wont be such an attractive day out in the Championship, subsequently, those extra corporate packages created at the expense of the ordinary fan will have to be filled, and they'll be reduced ! After all, theres a whole department dedicated to doing just that ! For the four years that times were good, the club refused to sell new concessions anywhere in the ground other than the family stand , which meant that any regular anywhere else in the ground who now had a child of supporting age, was forced to move seats in order to get them in, or pay full price ! I ended up with two seats in the kop where i'd always been, and two in the family stand , it was the only way to get 2 adults and two kids without ALL sitting in the family stand ! But why would the club worry , it was more prime seats in the kop to flog to the better off premiership crowd ! Now it appears, new concessions are available in ANY part of the ground again , how strange ! Not everyone will know this , but mid premiership the consession age changed as well, went from 16 down to 15 and bingo , another killing from the club as the teenagers became adults a year earlier ! The atmosphere suffered and stuttered, but all along the road the premiership crowd grew !

WELL BIRMINGHAM CITY, YOUR PREMIERSHIP CROWD HAS GONE NOW AND WHAT YOURE LEFT WITH IS THE BLUES ONE YOU HAD BEFORE ! Well said, the comman man now makes he's stand. This lot built our club up over 12 years which i appreciate. but they are now destroying it a lot quicker "no"

Fact - We are paying Premiership prices to watch garbage football. (£200 more if memory serves me right from when we were last there)
Fact - They will cut ticket prices throughout the season.
Fact - You will always get a ticket even for the derby games if your quick enough.
Fact - You'll miss games if you're on shift work.
Fact - An ST will gaurentee play off and play off final tickets.
Fact - The chances of going straight back up are against us.
Fact - You will be able to get an ST at Xmas for half price sold on the basis that they will gaurentee you a ticket for the play offs.
Fact - You'll miss it if you're not there

I am willing to gamble that all home game tickets will all be available 'on the day', and that the average price per game will be between £15-£20 per game. That will save me anywhere between £88 - £190 over the course of the season. If there are many £10 games, i'll be quids in. My guess is that I'll be able to stand pretty much where I want for most games.

Plus, I will have the satisfaction of knowing that I am not being taken for a mug by multi-millionaire owners who have watched this club surrender it's top flight status with barely a whimper.

I admit I have fallen for their spin and lies in the past, but not this season. It is time for me to make a stand.

why do you think the on the day prices are likely to be so cheap? the wolves were charging £24 this season in the championship -= I bet ours will match that sort of price..
My renewal works out quite good - my lad and I sit in the family stand - £361 and £180
this works out just £15.70 per game for me and £7 a game for the lad..if we renew again next season this is £288 and £144 just £12 quid a game and £6 for the boy..and we could even be back in the premiership by then....

I base my belief on the fact that for most of this season's Premiership games there were tickets available at reduced prices. ST holders lost out big time over the season.

In the Championship there will be even more available. They have a choice. Sell at the normal price and risk having many empty seats, or reduce the prices to recoup some money. With a few exceptions, they will probably do the latter.

If i'm wrong, i'm wrong. I'm going to see how it all pans out.

That being said, the price isn't my main motivating factor. As far as I'm concerned I will not endorse a poor manager, and not buying a ST is my own way of sending a message to a Board who did nothing as we limped into the Championship.

When we went up prices did the same, then when they found that the ground was not filling up week in week out they had a series of reduced price tickets for people who got the on a game by game basis. This peed off the season ticket holds no end.

Now we are down prices have stayed the same with an incentive to buy a three year ticket which would give a 25% reduction on next years ticket but a return to this years price the year after. wtf**

Blues board of directors are milking the fan base for every penny it has and people are getting very very pi ssed off!

Read the small print - the 20% reduction will be on the 2007/8 ST price. If we go up, ST prices could go up (say) 50% and your discount will be 20% OFF THE NEW ST PRICE.

Admittedly the third season will then go back to 2006/7 but we could be back down by then especially given as we will have effectively frozen a chunk of our income at prices three years old.

It's a vicious circle.

STs look expensive = low ST sales

Low ST sales = lots of empty seats

Lots of empty seats = low pay on the day prices

Low pay on the day prices = STs look expensive

STs look expensive = low ST sales....

A flawed, in fact cr@p, commercial strategy.
